Gearalt is a recognised expert in employment law and an experienced litigator. For over 20 years, he has advised employers across the UK on complex and strategic legal work, with a client portfolio spanning a range of sectors including energy, construction, retail, charities and manufacturing.

Gearalt has a strong track record advising the full spectrum businesses from large PLCs and FTSE-listed clients through to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and charitable organisations.

Gearalt leads the WBD Northern Employment team. Specialising in workplace change, he has significant expertise in devising and project managing solution-based support for employers.

Hilary du Randt

Recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK Directory 2021 for being "incisive and very able", Hilary is a Partner and heads up the North East Employment team. 

She acts for a wide range of public and private sector clients, including registered social landlords, public bodies, commercial entities of all sizes, NHS Trusts, education establishments and high net worth individuals. This has given her a sound instinct for taking a practical approach in the advice she gives to clients, which focuses on achieving their commercial objectives rather than only black letter law.

Hilary advises on all aspects of employment law, from recruitment through to dismissal. Her practice includes advising on complex disciplinary and grievance matters, equality and diversity issues, and providing legal and tactical advice on handling issues of underperformance, absence and dismissals at all levels.
